Level Up: Backyard Reset

This backyard project was a complete overhaul. The space was previously unusable due to severe slope issues and an abundance of overgrown trees. The grade of the yard made it impossible for the family to safely or comfortably enjoy the space.

We began by clearing all overgrown trees, removing the existing retaining walls, and hauling away old boulders and rock throughout the property. This initial phase allowed us to fully reset the landscape and prepare for proper structural improvements.

To create a functional and stable yard, we engineered and constructed a 100-foot retaining wall to support the new grade. The area was rebuilt with updated drainage solutions, hundreds of yards of gravel for footing and backfill, and extensive fill dirt to properly level and slope the yard for effective water runoff. A dry creek bed was installed in the lower portion of the yard to slow, direct, and manage stormwater runoff.

The project was completed with a brand-new irrigation system, fresh sod throughout the entire yard, and a safety fence along the taller section of the retaining wall. The result is a wide-open, functional backyard that the family can now step directly into from their deck and fully enjoy.
